To celebrate International Women’s Day, The Cheddar Hub and the ACM-W York Chapter hosted a lunch and tech talk event. The event aimed to provide a platform for women in computing to share their research interests and experiences, aligning with the theme “Give to Gain,” which emphasized learning through collaboration and mutual support.
The event began with a relaxed lunch, giving everyone a chance to settle in and connect. Bidushi then welcomed all the attendees and officially opened the session. Following this, Poonam introduced the ACM chapters and explained their purpose and opportunities to the audience.
Sebati then shared her personal journey, offering insights into her experiences in the field. After her talk, Suemaiya presented her research work, engaging the audience with her ideas and findings.
The day concluded with informal networking, where participants had the opportunity to connect with one another, and everyone received ACM goodies as a closing gesture.
